Aetna Toastmasters Day a Success!
The Aetna Articulators collaborated with other Aetna Toastmasters club's throughout the country on Feb 28th and was officially recognized by AetNet as Toastmasters Day.

Dr. James Cowan provided an insightful speech on how overcoming your fear of public speaking can help improve your career as well as providing some practical tips to improve your presentations.

Special thanks goes to Donna Deglas and all the other Toastmasters who helped organize the event.
We would also like to thank all the guests that attended the event.

If you have any comments or questions about the day's events please send an email to Toastmasters-BB Club

The Toastmasters program provides opportunities for Aetna employees to improve overall communication proficiency as well as focus on verbal, written, presentation, and active listening skills.

The program helps members develop solid communication and leadership abilities. Members are guided through speech projects created to improve their ability to present information in a concise, professional manner.

Image4A company whose employees exhibit strong communication skills has a clear advantage over the competition.  Unfortunately, many employees lack the knowlege and practice to effectively deliver a clear message.   That is where Toastmasters can help.

Our club provides the tools that can help you become a more effective communicator and leader. We also help:

  • give better sales presentations
  • develop confidence and self-esteem
  • hone their management skills
  • work well with fellow employees
  • effectively learn to present ideas
  • offer constructive criticism
  • accept criticism more objectively

Image5Toastmasters certifications have been added to Aetna’s Talent Manager, which is linked to the 2007 scorecards.  Once a Toastmasters certification has been achieved, it can be listed under the “License and Certification” tab in Talent Manager.

Our program is highly recommended by the National Accounts Customer Service Presentation Excellence Program, as well as many of Aetna’s leaders.  Membership for you or your employees is very reasonable and can be easily made a part of the education budget for your department.

For membership and additional meeting information, please see our membership information page.
